Oh …a nice shady tree to rest under … close to the water too 🙂
Ooops …on closer look … that is not an inviting root to rest on !! Dirty him .. trying to trick me.
Look he is moving.
What camouflage!! There he goes …
Just look at the tail of this huge monitor lizard lurking near the waters. Thankfully they scuttle along when they see or hear your approaching. But if by chance you get too close … be prepared for a swipe of his tail that can ….well I will leave it to your imagination 🙂
Posting in response to Jithin’s MMC post on Hidden Danger. Yeah, I’m late but thought of sharing nonetheless.
And by the way, there is now a chain link fence between them and us. I took these through the links.
Also sharing with Echoes of My Neighbourhood.

I wanted to ask you a question as I saw the first image. But you answered it in the last few lines. You always have some shield in between you and your subject 😉

This is fabulous! It’s huge isn’t it. I would be quite scared of the thing.

Funnily .. he appears more menacing when you look at his picture than when you see him in real life – even on our side of the fence where they wander. I guess we have got used to them and they generally harmless.
Did you get the pingback? I linked to your very first Echoes post where you presented you absolutely super idea. …thanks for hosting our travels 🙂

It’s always comforting to know scary animals, esp reptiles!! are usually scared of us. But my goodness, that’s a big lizard.
